IELTS WRITING TASK 2 Sample Answer by Mohammad Faysal Hossain
Animals should not be used for the benefits of human beings, unless there is evidence that the animals do not suffer in any way.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
The statement about whether or not animals should be treated for the welfare of humans is a very argumentative one. There are many people on both sides of the issue who have very strong feelings based on their own situations.
Now, we can discuss some of the factors in favour of making suffer to animals for humans. First of all, animals, to some scale , are being used for transportation in many countries across the world. For example, some domestic animals such as camels, cows, horses and so on are used for transporting people and goods from one place to another, particularly in developing and underdeveloped countries in the world. Secondly, research work is widely being carried out with the help of different kinds of animals. Moreover, animals are also necessary to meet the demand of protein and other food value. Furthermore, leather industries entirely depend on animal’s skin.
On the other hand, there are some factors, too, in favour of not making harm to animals in the name of human benefits. Firstly, animals should not be treated wrongly to maintain ecological balance. For instance, every year millions of guest birds come to our country specially in some rural areas. We cannot kill or do them any harm because these are very essential part of our ecological chain. In addition, to preserve animal rights, we must not hurt them.
In conclusion, I believe that though our intention is not to cause any suffer to animals, they could be suffered for the greater sake of mankind.
